Every year since I can remember, on Jan 1st, New
Year's Resolutions are made. These are
usually things that we want to try and improve on, things we want to change. We make resolutions to lose weight, stop
smoking, spend more time with family or friends, be more kind, etc. We make these kind of resolutions and then around about Jan 20th they are promptly broken. Sometimes we may feel guilty about this,
sometimes relieved, but mostly our resolutions are forgotten.

Yes, Another Post on New Years Resolutions
By Nicholas Smith, LPC
This New Years, I encourage everyone to not think of a general goal such as "lose weight." Instead, let's try something new this year and focus more on the types of emotions or experiences we would like to have in 2014.

A Basic Guide to Prayer And Meditation
Here at HCCI we promote prayer because we believe in it. The use of prayer has long been considered highly therapeutic and this has been affirmed numerous times by various professional studies as well as personal anecdotes spoken and written about for more than 2000 years.

Just Tell Me What To Do To Make It Better!
On January 14, 2014, Heritage Counseling Center will be presenting a seminar to help people struggling with anxiety, hard to parent children, ministry burnout and marriage. We are calling it Just Tell Me What To Do To Make It Better! not because we have a quick magical fix but rather to provide people a path to get better-steps that if taken will move fellow strugglers towards better and better.
